The pump creates a partial vacuum, drawing blood into the penis, and expanding it. The proper sized elastic ring is then slipped over the penis and positioned at the base of the penis to retain the blood maintaining the erection during intercourse. The rings are specially engineered with a flat inner surface to provide more surface area of the ring on the penis. This allows for maximum pressure with minimum constriction. The bands should be removed within 30 minutes. Do not fall asleep with the band still in place.
